Vera Glonina is an Attorney of the Intellectual Property and Data Protection & Cybersecurity Practice groups of ALRUD Law Firm. Vera focuses on TMT and Life Sciences industries.

Vera’s experience includes a wide range of projects related to IP enforcement (including litigation in courts and the Patent and Trademark Office. She participates in prosecutions (trademarks, patents, computer programs, databases, geographical indication), as well as transactional projects related to transferring and licensing of IP rights. Also, she has experience in consulting on advertising and marketing issues.

Vera is involved in projects related to data protection, cybersecurity issues and legal audits of companies, with respect to compliance with personal data laws, as well as projects on the formalization of the processing of personal data in companies and complex due diligence projects, involving IP and IT issues.

Vera joined the ALRUD team in 2019. Vera was awarded a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Law by Moscow State University. Currently, Vera is pursuing an LLM degree, focusing on IP&IT, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).

Vera is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the American Bar Association (ABA). Additionally, Vera is a head of the “Case Law Analysis” division in the educational organization IP CLUB.

in anti-counterfeit matters, involving counterfeit online sales on the Internet, online aggregators and in social media.

A major Russian charitable organization

on compliance with personal data legislation and preparing of documents formalizing its personal data transfers, including drafting its privacy policy.

An American multinational technology company

that develops and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services, on several copyright and defamation issues, including checking the chain of rights to certain works, created in the USSR, and assessing the risks of using the images of certain persons, within the company's video service.

A global, mobile game developer

on the acquisition of another gaming company: on the transfer of IP rights to the software and ensuring compliance with personal data laws. Then, Vera assisted with the software registration in the Russian Patent Office.

A global pharmaceutical company

on the perspectives on enforcing patent rights against another large pharmaceutical company, that had registered a generic and introduced it into circulation, before the patent expired.

The largest Russian manufacturer

of mining equipment for underground exploitation of coal, potash ore and rock salt, with regard to trademark protection on the Internet, including representing its interests in courts.

in a court dispute against a major bank, related to execution of a software integration agreement.
