Ksenia Tarkhova and Polina Perova spoke at the AEB Legal Committee Meeting

On 12 February 2025, the AEB (Association of European Business) Legal Committee held a meeting. The meeting participants discussed companies’ assets diversion from unfriendly countries and deprivation.

The main objectives of the meeting were as follows:

• legal support to AEB members;

• expert review of AEB projects and documents in accordance with the current legislation of the Russian Federation;

• site for sharing of legal firms’ views and information as to legislative and legal practices developments.

ALRUD law firm was represented on the meeting by Ksenia Tarkhova, Senior Associate, and Polina Perova, Senior Associate. The topic was “Countersanctions: mechanism of assets diversion from unfriendly countries in the RF”. They shared valuable information on the issuance of new decree No. 442, legislative proposal on confiscation of western assets in Russia, told about consequences and risks for foreign investors, looked into recent real cases and the use of the mechanism in practice.
