Margarita Egiazarova Holds Webinar for “Labour Disputes” Magazine

On 19 February 2025, Margarita Egiazarova, Partner of ALRUD’s Labour and Employment Practice, held webinar for “Labour Disputes” magazine.
The key topic of Margarita’s speech was “Dismissal of an employee. The influence exerted by court positions on the procedure, practice, and work of lawyers, recruiters, and HR managers”.
The webinar covered the following aspects:
Tendencies towards strengthening control over the dismissal procedure: expansion of the scope of the courts’ discretion when assessing compliance by an employer with the procedure;
Increasingly stringent requirements for employers: new restrictions, prohibitions, and the necessity for a deeper analysis of the grounds for dismissal;
Protection of employees’ rights: strengthening of guarantees, facilitation of requirements for employees in case of dismissal and extension of time limits for apply to court;
Approaches to payments: particularities of control over compliance with payment commitments at dismissal, and new attitude to payment of average wage.
The number of employees categories subject to protection against dismissal is increasingly growing. Lawyers joke that at this rate we will soon come to an outright ban on dismissals. Standard dismissals are also becoming more complicated – the courts have set a course for protection of employees and are not going to deviate from it. Margarita Egiazarova said
