German Zakharov is elected as a Finance and Investments Committee Chair at the AEB

On April 15, 2026, German Zakharov, Partner within ALRUD Competition/Antitrust, Foreign Direct Investments, Crisis Management, Economic sanctions and Compliance practices, was elected as a new Finance and Investments Committee Chair at the Association of European Businesses (AEB). The decision was taken by the members of the Working Group Committee by vote and approved by the AEB Board.

The AEB Finance and Investments Committee plays a key role in improving the investment climate in the Russian Federation for European and international business. Its primary mission is to identify and resolve systemic financial issues, as well as to foster constructive dialogue among the business community, Russian financial institutions and government authorities. In the course of its work the Committee serves as a platform for discussing current issues and sharing information. Its key focus areas include organizing conferences and open meetings, participating in the development of recommendations for regulating authorities, and preparing analytical materials.

The Association of European Businesses (AEB) is the main representative body of foreign investors in Russia. Founded in 1995, the AEB brings together more than 380 companies from Europe, the USA, Japan, Korea, Turkey, and Russia. Representing the interests of business, the organization works through 65 committees and working groups and actively interacts with Russian and European regulators. The AEB’s mission is the improvement of the investment climate of the Russian Federation and boosting cooperation between Russia and the EU.
