The annual IBA Law Firm Management Conference took place in Moscow

On November 28, the 8th IBA Law Firm Management Conference took place in Marriott Royal Aurora Hotel. At the Conference the experts from different countries discussed the issues of legal business conducting. For the owners and the managing partners of law firms the participation in this event gave a chance to inquire the experience of the colleagues and the latest world trends and to strike up new business acquaintance.

ALRUD Senior Partner Vassily Rudomino, the member of the International Bar Association’s (IBA) Legal Practice Division Council, moderated Plenary Session named «2015: Business as usual?». During the Session the participants were discussing following topics:

  • How recent geopolitical and economic trends will influence the business?

  • How sanctions affect legal market?

  • Are law firms ready for the challenges?

  • Which economic developments will drive the legal market?

ALRUD Senior Partner Maxim Alekseyev took place as a co-moderated in the session «Replacing the Irreplaceable: Leadership Transitions in Law Firms» where the issues of succession planning and leadership transitions from the perspective of the senior partners were discussed.

The conference also covered the following topics: «Financial management of the law firm: where is your weakness?», « Administrative staff in the growing law firm», «Purchase of legal services: the correct pricing - key to success?», «International trends in the organization of tenders for legal services».

Every year the number of participants continues to grow. This year's event attracted more than 170 delegates from different cities of Russia and countries of the world that reflected the growing interest in the problems and the development of the legal services market.
