ALRUD Law Firm announces the appointment of Ekaterina Boeva as a new Partner and Head of Banking and Project Finance Practice starting from 1 September 2023. Ekaterina’s appointment will create new opportunities to solidify and develop the practice due to the extensive experience she has gained over the past nine years in supporting complex projects and her commitment to the firm’s interests and her effective teamwork.

In recent years, Ekaterina has been a key project manager in the Banking and Project Finance Practice and has established herself as a reliable professional and competent manager who is ready to take on the role of a leader both in the practice and in a team. These qualities have aided her professional growth and promotion to a leadership position at the firm.

Ekaterina specialises in main types of bank and equity financing (trade, export, mezzanine, bridge, asset, real estate and acquisition finance), is involved in syndicated lending projects, manages international and Russian financing transactions, whilst representing both lenders and borrowers, supports clients in restructuring projects and has also actively advised clients on counter-sanctions regulation in financing transactions over the last year.

Ekaterina joined ALRUD in 2014 as a paralegal after graduating from the National Research University – Higher School of Economics. She is also a member of the International Bar Association (IBA).

on more than 30 transactions involving the provision of project, mezzanine and equity financing as well as bridge financing for Russian and international companies in real estate, retail, restaurant, integrated security, pharmaceuticals and healthcare industries.

A syndicate of Russian banks

on the syndicated financing for the construction of a rolled steel manufacturing plant.

One of Russia’s top three banks

on a cross-border transaction in relation to acquisition finance of maritime transport.

International Investment Bank

as a lender and arranger for one of the largest infrastructure companies in Mongolia.

A major Russian bank

on multiple cross-border trade finance transactions.

Sberbank of Russia

on a project involving international restructuring in respect of loan and security documentation entered into with Rosneft group companies.

Export Credit Agency of Finland

on the Russian regulation of the issuance of guarantees as securities of risks associated with exports to Russia.

Industrial and Commercial Bank of China

on the restructuring of securities provided to obtain financing for the construction and modernisation of a plant in Yaroslavl.

Hungarian Export-Import Bank

on the conclusion of security documentation with a Russian borrower, including on the validity and enforceability of the provided state guarantees.

Bank of Baroda (India)

on financing a borrower for the acquisition of a pharmaceutical company.

ITE Group (UK)

on refinancing of a loan from a syndicate of European banks (increasing the credit limit to GBP100m).
